Botox, Injections and Fillers

Radiesse Dermal Fillers

At FCP Dermatology, Dr. Bailey most commonly uses Radiesse® to treat the signs of aging on the back of the hands. Over time we lose volume in the back of the hands and our tendons and veins become more noticeable. Aged hands can make a person appear older than they are. The number one indication for Radiesse® is to plump the back of the hands, stimulate collagen and restore a youthful appearance. Another area where we use Radiesse® at FCP Dermatology is on the cheeks and jawline to provide a long-lasting sculpted appearance.

Overall, the Radiesse® dermal filler treatment in Toronto will provide you with a sculpted and revitalized appearance without surgery. Schedule your consultation with FCP Dermatology today.

Radiesse® Dermal Filler Injections Benefits

Radiesse® can be used for the same purposes as hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, including restoring lost volume, enhancing specific areas, and reducing wrinkles on the face. Due to its unique properties, Radiesse® is often recommended for rejuvenating the backs of the hands, where volume loss and the appearance of tendons and veins is evident during the aging process. Other ares of treatment include; jawline, cheeks, temples, hands and chin.

Minimally invasive with no downtime. Results are seen immediately and last 2-4 years.

Radiesse® Treatment Details
How does Radiesse® work?

Radiesse® works by restoring volume loss immediately with dermal filler and at the same time it stimulates your body’s collagen production in the treated area. This allows Radiesse® to give results lasting from 2-4 years. Collagen is a naturally occurring substance in the body which is responsible for providing the skin’s youthful glow and radiance. Over time, collagen production slows down resulting in the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and volume loss. Radiesse® can reverse this process making you appear more youthful.

Radiesse® results can last up to 2-4 years after one treatment. Radiesse® has unique collagen inducing properties which allow results to last longer periods then typical hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. When first injected, Radiesse® acts similar to dermal fillers which provide instant plumping effects and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Over time, Radiesse® stimulates collagen production which naturally improves the appearance of aging. Patients who receive Radiesse® injections will notice that they continue to look better for months to years after the treatment.

Radiesse® Filler Treatment Experience

What To Expect During a Radiesse® Dermal Filler Procedure

Depending on the area to be treated, our Board-Certified Dermatologist will use ultra-fine needles or a cannula to inject Radiesse® into the desired areas on the face or hands. The injections are quick, and only cause minor discomfort. Patients may feel a pressure sensation, but no pain with the injections. At FCP Dermatology, lidocaine is mixed in with Radiesse® to make the procedure as painless as possible.

Before the procedure – A cosmetic consultation will be done with our team of skin experts to determine if Radiesse® injections are the right option for you. A careful analysis of your face will be performed, and the appropriate treatment will be determined.

During the procedure – The treatment area will be thoroughly disinfected, and the treatment area will be carefully mapped out by Dr. Bailey. Radiesse® is injected with small needles, or a cannula depending on the treatment area. Patients may feel a pressure sensation in the injected areas during the treatment, however the procedure is minimally invasive and very tolerable.

After the procedure – Results from Radiesse® injections can be seen immediately. Patients will see a more plump, refreshed, and sculpted appearance. In the following weeks and months, the results will gradually improve as the body continues to build collagen.

Radiesse® will provide you with a natural revitalized appearance of the face or hands without surgery. Schedule your consultation today to achieve lifted skin with no downtime.

Radiesse® Treatment FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Radiesse®

Radiesse® is a brand of dermal filler that is used to restore volume and smooth out wrinkles in the skin. It is made of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. Radiesse® stimulates collagen production and provides immediate volume while also promoting long-term tissue regeneration.

Some of the benefits of Radiesse® include:

- Stimulates the body’s natural collagen production, providing long-lasting effects.
- Restores lost volume in the face and hands.
- Minimally invasive with no downtime. Results are seen immediately and improve over time.
- Effective treatment for the back of hands to improve the appearance of tendons and veins that become more noticeable over time.
- Moisturizes the skin, improves its elasticity, and increases collagen production.
- Natural looking results.
- Provides a refined and refreshed appearance.

Just like hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, Radiesse® is a non-invasive treatment that requires no downtime. Patients will feel minimal pain or discomfort and can immediately return to their daily activities.

Radiesse® is commonly used to treat lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. It can also be used to restore volume to the cheeks, hands and neck.

At FCP Dermatology, Radiesse® injections are only performed by our Double Board-Certified Dermatologist, Dr. Kristy Bailey. Dr. Bailey has extensive knowledge of facial anatomy, and the training and expertise to provide expert results. Unlike hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, Radiesse® cannot be dissolved. This is why only an experienced Board-Certified Dermatologist should be trusted to inject this product.

Radiesse® is considered an elective cosmetic treatment and is not covered.

Radiesse® results can typically last up to 2-4 years after just one treatment. Over time, Radiesse® stimulates collagen production which naturally improves the appearance of aging. Patients who receive Radiesse® injections will notice that they continue to look better for months to years after the treatment.

Radiesse® injections can be combined with other skin tightening and rejuvenation treatments such as hyaluronic acid fillers, botox, microneedling, laser treatments, facials, and peels.

The effects of Radiesse® can last between 12 to 18 months, although individual results may vary. Over time, the calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres are gradually metabolized by the body, but the collagen stimulated by Radiesse® continues to provide some ongoing improvement.

Discomfort during Radiesse® injections can vary from person to person. The product is usually mixed with a local anesthetic called lidocaine to minimize pain during the procedure. Additionally, a numbing cream or ice may be applied before the injections to further reduce discomfort.

The cost of Radiesse® treatment can vary depending on factors such as the amount of product used and the number of treatment sessions. At FCP Dermatology, every patient receives a bespoke consultation prior to treatment.

Radiesse® is not recommended for individuals with a history of severe allergies, bleeding disorders, or active skin infections at the injection site. It is important to disclose your medical history and any medications you are taking during the consultation to ensure safety.
