FUE Hair Transplant
FUE Hair Transplant Indications
FUE Hair Transplant
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) Hair Transplantation has become widely popular due to its impressive success rate and patient-friendly features, making it an attractive option for individuals seeking effective hair restoration. The minimally invasive approach of FUE involves harvesting individual hair follicles directly from the donor area, leaving tiny, circular wounds that are typically undetectable. This method is particularly favored by those who prioritize natural-looking results and a faster return to their daily activities. The appeal of FUE extends to its ability to cause minimal scarring, further enhancing the aesthetic outcome of the procedure. The reduced visibility of scars allows individuals to confidently embrace shorter hairstyles without concerns, providing a seamless and authentic appearance. This technique combines effectiveness with cosmetic benefits, making FUE Hair Transplantation a preferred choice for many.
Minimally Invasive
Follicular Unit Extraction, FUE Hair Transplants involves extracting individual hair follicles from the donor area, typically the back or sides of the scalp, using a small punch tool. This minimally invasive approach reduces scarring and promotes faster healing compared to traditional hair transplant methods.
Quick Recovery Time
Because FUE doesn't involve the removal of a strip of scalp tissue like in other techniques, patients experience minimal discomfort and shorter recovery times. Most individuals can return to their regular activities within a few days to a week after the procedure, with minimal downtime.
Versatile Treatment
FUE can be used to address various types and stages of hair loss, from early-stage thinning to advanced baldness. Whether you're looking to restore a receding hairline, fill in thinning areas, or achieve greater overall hair density, FUE offers versatile solutions tailored to your specific needs and goals.
Natural Looking Results
FUE hair transplant allows for precise transplantation of hair follicles, resulting in more natural looking results and appearance. The individual hair follicles are strategically placed to mimic the natural growth pattern of your current hair, creating seamless integration with your existing hairline and density.
Best Candidates for Hair Transplant
FUE Hair Transplant is a highly effective solution for individuals experiencing specific patterns of hair loss, especially men who are commonly affected by male-pattern baldness. Suitable candidates typically exhibit hair loss characterized by well-defined areas of baldness or receding hairlines. It’s crucial for candidates to maintain overall good health, as this contributes to the success of the transplant. Realistic expectations are also key, as FUE Hair Transplantation can significantly improve hair density but may not restore a full head of hair.

Hair Transplant Procedure
The FUE Hair Transplantation procedure involves a step-by-step process designed to ensure a seamless and effective experience. It all begins with an initial consultation, where you meet with our experienced surgical Dermatologist, Dr. Kristy Bailey, to discuss your specific goals and expectations. The donor area and area of concern are carefully and artistically mapped out. During the procedure, local anesthesia is administered by Dr. Bailey to ensure your comfort. The next steps involve the extraction of individual follicular units from the donor site, typically located on the back or sides of your head. These healthy follicles are then meticulously implanted into the areas experiencing hair loss. The result is a natural-looking and lasting solution to hair restoration, tailored to your unique needs and preferences
Preparing for your FUE Hair Transplant surgery involves a comprehensive and patient-centered approach to ensure optimal results. Before the procedure, you will undergo a thorough consultation process with Dr. Kristy Bailey. This initial meeting is a crucial step in customizing your treatment plan and ensuring a successful outcome. During the consultation, Dr. Bailey will perform a detailed analysis of your loss patterns and scalp condition. This involves assessing the density of your donor hair, identifying areas of thinning or baldness, and understanding your aesthetic goals. Dr. Bailey will take time to discuss your medical history, any pre-existing conditions, and medications you may be taking to ensure a safe and effective procedure. Following this analysis, Dr. Bailey will work closely with you to design a personalized plan for your FUE hair transplant. The design will take into consideration factors such as your facial features, hairline preferences, and overall desired look. This collaborative process ensures that the treatment is tailored to meet your unique needs and expectations. In preparation for the surgery, you will receive detailed instructions to optimize your experience and enhance the success of the procedure. By following these instructions and actively participating in the consultation process, you are not just preparing for a procedure but embarking on a journey towards personalized hair restoration. Our dedicated team is committed to ensuring your comfort, safety, and satisfaction every step of the way.
The day of the surgery begins with the design of your new hairline by Dr. Kristy Bailey. Taking into consideration the personalized plan that was crafted during your consultation, Dr. Bailey will work with you to design your new hairline. The goal is to create a natural and aesthetically pleasing result that complements your facial features.
The medical team will prepare you for the procedure, which involves shaving the donor and recipient areas, as well as administering a local anesthetic to numb the donor and recipient areas. The FUE technique involves individually extracting follicular units (hair follicles) from the donor area, typically located at the back or sides of the scalp. This is done By Dr. Bailey using a specialized punch tool that creates tiny, minimally invasive incisions around each follicular unit.
Once extracted, the individual follicular units are collected and prepared for transplantation. Dr. Bailey then creates small incisions in the recipient area (balding or thinning region) using precise angles and distribution based on the pre-designed hairline. Each follicular unit is delicately implanted into the recipient incisions. The meticulous placement ensures a natural hair growth pattern and density.
After the surgery, you'll receive post-operative care instructions. While there may be some initial redness and swelling, these side effects are generally temporary. Regular follow-up appointments will be scheduled to monitor your progress, discuss any concerns, and ensure a smooth recovery. Hair growth is a gradual process. It takes several months for the transplanted follicles to establish themselves and start producing new, permanent hair. With patience and proper post-operative care, you’ll gradually witness the transformation of your new hairline, leading to a natural and restored appearance. Remember, the success of the procedure often relies on the expertise of your physician and adherence to post-operative care instructions. Feel free to ask questions throughout the process to ensure you are well informed and comfortable at every step.
Hair Transplant Technology

Our commitment to innovation plays a crucial role in ensuring superior results for our patients. Dr. Bailey and her team have undergone extensive training in the revolutionary FUE Hair Transplantation method. Collaborating with esteemed doctors from around the world, they have honed their skills to bring cutting-edge techniques and the highest standards of care to FCP Dermatology. Dr. Bailey and her team have immersed themselves in the latest advancements in FUE, ensuring that their patients receive nothing but the best in hair restoration. The use of advanced technologies enhances the precision of the transplantation process, promoting natural-looking and lasting outcomes. These innovations contribute to minimizing downtime, reducing discomfort, and optimizing the overall experience of our patients.
At FCP Dermatology a board-certified Dermatologist will be doing the bulk of your hair transplant procedure. The Dermatologist will be injecting your local anesthetic as opposed to a technician. Having a non-MD do your injection can increase your risk of lidocaine toxicity which can lead to death in some cases. FCP Dermatology is an approved out-of-hospital premise in Ontario. This means that FCP Dermatology must abide by the same rules as a hospital in Canada in regards to sterilization and prevention of blood-borne illnesses. This ensures your procedure is safe, clean, and minimizes the risk of transmission of blood borne illness.
When it comes to results, at FCP Dermatology we carefully and artistically design your hairline, taking into account your face shape, natural hair line and types of hairs commonly found at the front of the scalp. We meticulously analyze every single hair under a microscope to make sure that every donor follicle we take has an intact hair and bulb. Although we get you the most hair follicles possible, it’s about quality, not quantity. In fact, if you take too many hairs from the donor site your existing hair can become damaged and thin. We pride ourselves on a natural appearance without damaging any existing areas of hair.
Patients undergoing FUE Hair Transplantation can anticipate noticeable results within a few months of the procedure. While some initial shedding of transplanted hair may occur, this is a normal part of the process, and new, permanent hair growth follows. The full effects of the transplant become more apparent as any initial swelling subsides. It’s important to note that individual experiences may vary, but the longevity of FUE results is generally high, with outcomes lasting for many years. The FCP Dermatology team is committed to ensuring that patients have realistic expectations and are satisfied with the transformative results achieved through FUE Hair Transplantation.
Hair Transplant Recovery
Following an FUE Hair Transplant, the recovery process is generally smooth and accompanied by minimal downtime. Patients can expect some redness or swelling in the treated areas, which typically subsides within a few days. Adhering to post-operative care instructions is essential for optimal recovery. These instructions may include avoiding strenuous activities for a short period and keeping both donor and recipient sites moist. The minimal invasiveness of the FUE technique contributes to a quicker recovery, allowing individuals to resume their normal activities shortly after the procedure.

FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) involves extracting individual hair follicles for transplantation, resulting in less noticeable scars and allowing for quicker healing. FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) entails removing a strip of tissue containing hair follicles, leading to a linear scar but potentially yielding more grafts in one session. The choice between FUE and FUT depends on factors like hair loss pattern, donor hair characteristics, and personal preferences.
